How many of you pilgrims have a real scope vs a red dot type on your GSG. I have a 2-7 leupold (50 yard parallex corrected) laying around that I'm thinking of mounting. I believe I would have to remove the rear sight to get it to mount even with the QD high rings it's wearing. No mount yet so can't judge yet. With all this durn ice (busted up my knee yesterday) I haven't got out to shoot the rifle yet, but the consensus seems to be that it will be very accurate and may merit a good scope. My Entry Tactical with Ciener kit is not very accurate - just fun. Opinions? Pictures?

A scope on an MP5 is kinda rediculous...a scope on an MP5 that shoots .22 is moreso, IMO...its not designed for long range, but Ive heard if you rub cheetah blood on it and say 10 Hail Marys you might be able to get in the 3-ring at 200 yards...

This carbine is really more of an HK94 than an MP5. Wonder why I haven't heard that before?

I installed a scope on mine and yes the rear sight had to be taken off

the gsg-5 carbine is a lot more like the hk94, imo

i wanted a lil optic enhancement on my gsg-5 as well. the irons are great for plinking out to 100yds but i wanted to see what kind of accuracy i could get further out using a scope as well.
last time at the range i ran into an older guy with a scope mounted on his gsg-5 and he said it was great. nothing so big that you'd have to alter the rifle tho.
i think the whole 'mp5's shouldn't have scopes' argument is silly, do what ever u want. don't people rock scopes on other 22cal rifles???

go check the gsg-5 pic thread, some cats got some big-boy scopes on their gsg's in there

Here is mine with a V16 weaver. Works pretty good I have quick release rings on it. I plan on using the scope more this summer. I have a fakepoint on it right now with a laser.  It's only a FREAKING 22 not a real MP5.

I have a Nikon Monarch 1.5-4X on mine.
It nice and compact and performs very well as parallax free (parallax set at 40 yards).
The reticle is turkey type which give it a very good  sight picture.

New Simmons 2x rifle scope. It has plenty of eye relief so I was able to move it forward without messing with the rear sight. Still have almost another inch of eye relief left. Will probably try some lower rings too..

Do a search on ebay for ( MP5 mount ) or ( GSG-5 mount ) you should be able to find a few different ones

There is nothing wrong with a scope on a 22 since it is much more likely to be used for hunting/varminting than tactical entry like  it's 9mm inspiration.
The GSG is showing VERY good accuracy for me at 100yds so a scope is appropriate.
I am using this scope on my wooded GSG but without the tri-rail and the long sun shade.
It's a Leapers 6x24x50 with an adjustable objective.

I actually bought the Leupold FX-I 4x28mm sight and a Larue LT-104 mount.

Should have it put together Friday.
