| Good evening gents. I'm just getting into reloading and I'm working on building up my station. I'm starting with a Lee Classic Turret press. First, are other manufacturers products compatible with the Lee press? For example, can I use a Hornady powder measure instead of a Lee? Second, what other equipment and accessories do you recommend for a beginner? At this point I will be loading .45 acp, .40 s&w, .303, and maybe 6.5 jap for now. I know you guys will point me in the right direction. I'm anxious to get home and get started with everything! |
| There are resources tacked at the top that are great for beginners. To answer your question, most brands are interchangeable. I started with the Hornady single stage kit, but most companies will have a similar kit that will perform the same things. Best bet is to start by picking up reading material such as a reloading data book (Hornady, Barnes, Sierra, etc) and read everything in the first part of the book (not the load data) and The ABC's of Reloading. You can prolly find one online for a few bucks or maybe even a local library will have it. Read everything you can get your hands on before you start and take it slow. I came here about a year after I started reloading and learned more in a few months than my entire first year on my own. Good luck and welcome to an addicting hobby! |
