Purchased a BA50 and have 2000 API slugs and 200 new casings.

Question, I purchased the Lee Loader and the Lee resizer and the reloading book, what other hardware items items that I must have (not including powder and primers)?  Please include were I can get these items too.  I have read all of the posts and could not dig out all the "must have" items.

Thanks for all the help

you will need a scale to measure at least 200 grains of powder, some kind of holding block for the casings is nice, also need a dial caliper for measuring the OAL. also need something to trim the casings after you resize them.
case trimmer- http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=184378
powder scale- http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=184378
holding block- http://www.oneclickshooting.com/proddetail.asp?prod=42389  note 12ga will work but 10 ga is better.

A scale & powdermeasure...I use the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 combo, Available at MidwayUSA.  Your sclae needs to measure up to 1000 grains if you want to be able to weigh cases and sort them.  Denver Instruments makes most of the match-grade scales many of my fellow competitors use.  They use a dixie cup and a powder trickler to measure the powder onto the DI scale.

A 50 BMG Chamfer/Deburr tool, I use a Lyman, available from MidwayUSA.

A 50 BMG Primer Pocket Uniformer, I use a K&M, Google it.

A case trimmer, I use a K&M 50 BMG trimmer, Google it.

Have also heard that Sinclair makes an AWESOME Trimmer, got that from a good friend in FCSA.

A good set of Calipers, preferably that will measure out to 8 inches.

Other than what you have, that's about it.

thanks, i knew i was forgetting something, i was in a hurry to get to work.
also when you go to resize the casings you need to lube them. i use synthetic motor oil on a case lube pad, and it works better than the case lube i use for smaller casings.

Imperial Sizing Wax is the main lub most folks use.  It's what I use.  Also sold as REDDING lube.

Now I'm posting this from the road, and suffer from CRS (Can't Remember S**t), but I believe that my K&M trimmer chamfers and deburrs at the same time.  I use mine with a VSR drill to speed things up.

Yep.  That's the nice thing about the K&M...it trims, chamfers, & deburs all in one pass.  You still need a Chamfer/debur tool because you'll need it to put chamfer on primer pocket of brass that has been military crimped.

Be sure you use a SLOW drill with the K&M.  Running it fast will ruin the tool and make your lengths vary as the brass heats up.

What do you recommend for a powder scale?  I was looking at getting the RCBS 1500 electronic scale but I want to make sure it will handle throwing 50 BMG charges.  Thanks

The RCBS Chargemaster 1500 scale & powder measure will handle 50 BMG charges just fine.  Mine throws a 224 grain charge of H50BMG in about 30-35 seconds.  And yes, all that powder will fit in the provided powder pan, with room to spare.  I do all my 50 BMG loading with the Chargemaster 1500 scale/dispenser combo.

The chargemaster scale is plenty capable of weighing 800 grain bullets for sorting and brass as well, which typically weights something over 800 grains.  It won't quite weigh loaded rounds due to the 1500 grain capacity, i.e. 750 gr bullet, 800 grain brass, 224 grain charge is more than 1500 grains.

However, if I were JUST going to get a scale and not get the dispenser, i'd get a Denver Instruments scale.  Most of my fellow competitors that aren't using Chargemaster 1500 combos are using DI scales and throwing charges with a Dixie cup and a powder trickler.  NickMull on here is a dealer and can get you the best price available.
