Hey i need some tips on reloading for this particular rifle for those who have good results. Im looking to typically shoot around 100-200 yards

What powder do YOU recommend, how many grains of powder, bullet size etc etc? I dont want to go by my books because they show reloading data for hunting loads. I reload dozens of cartridges but never for this particular rifle and i dont want to screw anything up.

I'm interested also, particularly in how you size out the dent on the side of the brass.

For the record, I hear that 91's really chew up brass pretty bad in the extraction/ejection process.
I can't verify that for you from reloading experience, but just thought you might wanna look into it before getting into reloading for your 91.

You guys need to try a port buffer. It greatly decreases the damage to the brass on a 91, 51, SAR-8, CETME.

Use the port buffer to save the brass...it works.

Best load for my PTR is 40gr of Benchmark pushing a milspec 147gr FMJBT in Lake CIty brass with CCI large rifle primers.  Stock open sights at 100 yds was punching 1-3/4" groups...not bad especially since the target seems smaller than a fingernail at that distance with open sights.

Yep.

Instead of the case having two rather gnarly dents and being flung into another zip code, they'll have one long shallow dent and land
relatively close to your position.

Yes i already know about the port buffer and i plan on getting one, but whats this i hear about it getting in the way of the MFI mount? From the looks of that picture above, it doesnt....

But as far as powder goes, i assume fast burning powder and lighter bullets (lets say 150s) are best right?
