I have been reloading for years. My brother came to visit for the holidays and saw my setup and now wants to get into it. His wife got him the RCBS starter kit last year but he never messed with it because he didn't know where to start. I walked him through my process and some safety stuff but he is looking for more. Anyone have a great how to book they can recommend for a beginner? I learned by doing research online then buying a few loading manuals but he would prefer something in print to online info.

| When I re-started my reloading career I found the Lyman manual and the Hornady manual very informative. Thats been some time ago now. The Hornady manual had a lot information about procedures and pressures that were useful to get started with some concept of right and wrong. |

He knows he has to get a loading manual with the specs in it but I think he is looking for something additional like a how to manual with an outline of the processes that are involved. |

ABC's of Reloading Your looking for ABC's of Reloading. About $25 available where reloading supplies are sold.

Both of those manuals have extensive how to and why sections. (or they did anyway. My hornady manual is from the mid 80's)
They are fairly basic - i.e. you aren't going to get a lot of detail on measuring casehead expansion to evaluate pressure for example. The hornady manual f course tends to promote hornady bullets and equipment. |
