Which can do you think is best for the Rem700 and why?
Looking to get one soon before they try to ban those too. Edit: .308 Threaded |

Quoted:
What are your preferences? Thread on or quick attach? Weight (steel vs. titanium)? Budget? I have a pre-threaded barrel I dont really have the need for a quick detach. I dont mind the weight as I plan to mainly shoot from supported positions. Lets say I have no budget, of course I wanna save money and Im not made of it but Im the type to buy once cry once. |

Looks like that KNIGHT's boat anchor. We run all AAC 762SNDs and M42000s on their respective calibers for Rem 700s. No complaints... Thunderbeast is getting a lot of fanboys lately. We have one of those and a Sandstorm en route for the 300 Win Mags. ![]() With the Thunderbeast does the addition of a muzzle brake make any difference really. I don't plan on shooting unsuppressed. I do like the ratchet mounts on the AAC though. I have 2 surefires for both of my ARs and I like the secure feeling, Will a threaded suppressor become loose? |

I use an AAC Cyclone. I was worried about the suppressor unloosening from strings of fire, but that fear has subsided. I sent 60+ rounds through my 700 in somewhat quick succession. After the can finally cooled down, it was still tight against the barrel.
Threaded suppressors will give you a little better performance in DB. The reasons being: #1 They usually have more baffles due to no requirements for a flash hider/break to be inserted inside the can. #2 The can is sealed a lot tighter on a thread mounted system. Little to no gas escapes the back end of the can. Now the bright side of QD suppressors #1 Very repeatable impact shift. #2 You gain the benefits of a flash hider/break when the can is off. Both are good choices. Bolt guns are usually the way to go with threaded cans, semi-auto's for QD cans. |
