Up to now I have not shot my new (used) Rem 1100.  When I try to cycle dummy rounds through it the bolt always locks to the rear, the dummy doesn't fully eject, and the next round just sits on the lifter, is this normal?  I broke it down completely, cleaned, lubed and replaced the seals when I first got it and everything seems o.k.  I just want to know if there might be something wrong before I head to the range with it.  Thanks for looking.

Its probably OK. Shoot it with real ammo and see if you have any issues. Most 1100 guns WILL lock the bolt open when  cycling by hand, the timing of the bolt movement and the force of the shell popping out of the mag tube is not the same when hand cycling vs. actual firing.

Thats normal, but if you work it right or fast it should cycle.

Normal. When the rounds are live, it will function properly.

Had the same problem with my Browning Gold Hunter. As others have said, live ammo functions fine, as does working the action "briskly".

Got a chance to run some shells through it today, worked like a champ.  Thanks for your replies.
