I placed an order for W231 - Two, eight pounds.......well I got an email last week my order was ready to ship from midsouth. Totally forgot about that.
I said, yeah, send it. I'm ready for the next crisis.

Unless Midsouth has a different corp name, they are not Hodgdon "Top Gun Distributors" so they have to buy from vendors/distributors which means they wait in line compared to PV and Grafs.. (unless their status has changed - I have a 2013 list).
I have been fighting Brownells since Jan 2013 to fill my Varget order. They are not distributors. In Dec/Jan of 2013, Brownells had a monthly special on Varget.. $149 for 8lbs. Per their policy, they are obligated to honor that price. Problem is the Vendors wont sell it to them cheap enough. Since Brownells said they will not cancel backorders in 2013, they are instead just waiting out my death... Brownells has not fulfilled a Varget order since Dec 2012. They never will so if you have an order, be warned. |

I'd agree with others, grab what you can now.... while I'm glad to see things loosening up a little.... I'd guess this will be short lived. I'm stocked well with 4/8lb kegs of my preferred powders (possibly more than I'll use in my lifetime), as well as a nice selection of 1lb kegs that could be sold off or leveraged for trade (stuff that I might not normally use). ~g |

At that time I was told (wisely) not to stock up till I knew what I really wanted. I did go agaist the grain and bought 8 pounds of AA2230 locally. I also bought a pound of Win231.... Then Blammo, everything disappeared. I shoot and reload a lot of pistol, so I searched for alternatives, like Longshot, because it was around my area, Then I found some bullseye. I was travelling and found a 8 pounder of TiteGroup about 18 months ago for a killer price. ( I don't think the mom n pop store knew what was up in the rest of the world) Then I bought 4 pounds of CFE Pistol locally and 8 pounds of Win 296 and 748. Im set for a while. |
