I like to think I am pretty fluent in the ways of firearms, but this one has me stumped...
I load the magazine with 3 rounds, pull the bolt to the rear and instead of the carrier assembly pushing the shell upward and the bolt sliding forward into battery...I have to manually release the bolt usint the carrier release buttone on the bottom of the shotgun. I pulled the gun apart and everything looks correct in comparison to my schematics. It would be nice if I had another fully functioning gun to compare it to. The only thing coming to mind right now is the carrier dawg may be worn reducing the downard force on the cam assembly of the carrier. Any ideas on what it could be? |

Quoted: Video doesn't work So when loading the first round from a full magazine, I will have to manually release the bolt? http://www.max-11.com/videos/sgslomo.MOV Correct, although it is possible to rack the action quickly and violently and load a shell from the magazine tube. |

That is how most 1100's are supposed to operate. You can "fix" the problem by installing a new 3" carrier assembly. It's a factory Remington part, and will hold the interceptor latch back when a shell hits it, allowing the bolt to go forward when you release the charging handle.
