Just picked one up for $300. Cleaned it up and now waiting to replace the scope. Action is smooth, locks up good and it cleaned up purty! Good deal?
Near as I can tell its circa 1970.

Mods: sorry this is a duplicate from the deer hunting forum. Let the noob spotlight shine.

Got one in '72' shoots fine, runs well. If you like a pump gun your GTG.

And yes a good price in my eyes.

what cailber?

Like pretty much everybody else from PA I own a Remington pump rifle. Mine is a 1983 dated 7600 in .30-06

What's neat about the 760 and 7600 is that they really shoot well for a pump rifle. Mine groups at about 1.5in at 100yds using 150gr Core-Lokt's.

My buddy has a 7600 in .243 that shoots like a house on fire

pics of my 7600

Good deal IMO.  My older 760 shoots into about 1.5 inches too.  What I like is that the stock redirects recoil and does not kick like my 721.  Both in .30-06 and from the 1950's..

My little bro bought a beater 760 for $125, chopped the barrel to carbine length and added a ram line synthetic stock. Dandy brush gun

Excellant deal!
Mine is in 30-06, made in 1954.  It shoots rings around anyone elses bolt gun!  My best group (that i could never duplicate) was three shots at 100 yards THAT I COULD COVER WITH MY THUMBNAIL!!!

I've killed more deer with that gun than any other.

That's one that got away and wished I had back. Nice score!
