My P22 thread adapter has about 1/64" of lead coating on the inside of it.  Shooter Choice lead remover won't touch it.

I let my buddy shoot a bunch of a cheapy lead winchesters through it.  Thank god I didn't let him use the suppressor with them cause I knew this would happen.

hello. i use a sand blaster to get rid of lead build up. if you dont have access to one, you can also use this method wich works very well. get yourself one of those little blue propane torch kits. you can buy these at walmart or k-mart. heat the piece up until the lead starts to melt and then shake it. you dont have to get it very hot at all. i also use this method for my machinegun barrels and my reloading dies. just hold the torch about 6 inches away. you will be surprised at how well this works. kirk

I'm not going to sand blast it because I'm not going to remove the original finish.

The original finish is most likely gone from the blast and covered by buildup.  I would not expect the inside of a muzzle brake to retain finish.

I would just ream it out with an appropriate sized drill bit by hand.

No its not because the adapter has only been used 300 rds and I can slowly chip away the lead and the the finish is still there.

there is a lead remover for revolvers called lead wool remover,it works great for removing lead on our service revolvers but the guy who knew alot about it got fired, ill try too google it or look it up on Brownells, not sure what it will do to the finish though, and to each his own when it comes to interiors of P22 adapters,I have alot of drud in mine not sure what method Ill use to get rid of it.

Use a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% Hydrogen peroxide. Mix together then soak the adapter in the mix for about and hour. You may have to mix another batch and soak for another hour if the lead is really bad. This will remove the lead without harming the finish.

50/50 is a nasty combo, just dispose of properly
