is there a good source of reproduction scopes out there modeled after WWII scopes? I know Sarco has the turret mounts for k98s and I've seen some other mounts, but haven't had any luck finding proper (or even close) glass to go with it. Any ideas/suggestions?

There are repro scopes for Mosins.  Actually, they are post-war but identical to the wartime scopes.

Google is your buddy on this.  I am sure the Chinese have copied these, too.

I've seen the Mosins and I am interested in those, but I think I am just going to buy one of those ~$400 ones that are being advertised. I want to get a set of Mosin 91/30, K98, 1903, and Enfield clones going for my shooter collection. That's why they don't have to be exact, but the closer the better.

Google is usually helpfull, but all I am finding is either airsoft, video games, or just random pictures of real deal scopes that aren't for sale. I remember someone saying that eBay usually has some, but they try to pass them off as real ones and as such are usually overpriced for repros, but people still bid because they are underpriced in regards to real ones, so if you don't know it's a fake then you think you're getting a steal.

Here I thought there would be TONS of people who had encountered fakes in their pursuits of originals and would know where to get them.

Neo,

Go to www.gunboards.com.  There is a forum specifically for "sniper" type historical weapons.  Those guys know all the ins and outs.

Also, they are a good bunch of people.  I, too, want to get a $400 repro Mosin sniper.  I think they are one of the best buys out there right now.

I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to check out the gunboards link, but as soon as I get some time I will check it out in detail.

Now this is more of the thing I am looking for. Now does anyone know where I can find scopes for rifles other than Mosins?

Thanks for the help so far.
