I have about 5000 pulled 647 grn fmj bullets that could use some resizing and wondering
what is the better tool for this, what are you guy's using that works good ? These will be just for plinking as I do use new spendy pills for long range accuracy. |

If you're using a Lee press, buy their resizing die. If you're using a full size press then go to ch4d.com and get the resizing die in .5095 and get started.
Be sure to get some good lube, if a bullet is hard to run through you might need to send it through again. |
| I use the Lee sizer but don't even think of trying to resize them with the lube that comes with the Lee. I've tried just about everything and Imperial sizing Wax works like magic. It's hard to even hold on to the bullet with it on it. Squirts right out of your fingers. You have to watch how you set up your press and make sure your getting the best leverage possible. Be careful that you don't screw up the shell holder part of the ram. If your not careful you can screw it up if you don't lube it properly. |

| I use the lee resizing die and have ran about 300 API's through it so far without issue. I run each bullet through several times until I feel the lack of resistance that puts me at ease. For the cost of the CH4D die, you could buy a Lee press and the sizer die. |
| By the way last weekend I shot some resized 647 gr API at 400 and 575 yards and both grouped at just over an inch. Now to be honest I didn't have time to shoot 5 shot groups but I was pleasantly surprised with what I got. For some reason I don't get the same accuracy at 100 yards but if I can shoot better groups at long ranges I'll take it. |

The sizing die is 7/8x14 and will work in any reloading press. |

I'm not going to use it with one of my smaller presses so the bushing is needed so it will work in a bigger press with more leverage, jacketed bullets need a little more power to size them smooth and easy. |
| Until I found that Imperial Sizing wax I almost ruined my Rockchucker trying to force the API bullets through. Then I also learned to adjust the die up somewhat so I got better leverage. I went through a batch the other day using my Lee 50 BMG press with the adapter and it was very easy. I also found another sizing wax called Royal sizing wax. It's just about as good as the Imperial. Slicker than greased owl poop. |

Quoted: Nope the Imperial is clear in color and has not much smell and the Royal is yellow and smells very sweet. They are both slick. I've never heard of that Royal sizing wax before. I looked it up on Midwayuas and see the difference now. I was mistaking it for the Redding imperial sizing wax. |

Just wanted to add have been using Lee Resizing Lubricant, this isn't the stuff that comes with the sizing dies.
Normally was using Imperial Case Sizing Wax but was out so used this stuff and work out better resizing bullets. However the Imperial Case Sizing Wax still works better for sizing the cases IMO. |
