So i came across this on Friday, never seen one that looks like this before (only familiar with the Vietnam types), its been fired before, and appears to be of the non-reloadable variety.
Can anybody ID the make/model?  I'm assuming these are legal to own in the 'used' condition, but can this be confirmed?  And finally, is it worth $200?
Here's a quick cell phone pic, if I do get it, I'll put some more pics up

also i didn't know where to post this, figured this was the best place..

It's an AT4 tube. Not really sure what they go for but they're not very rare.

AT-4?

Yep, an AT4 launcher.

As long as it's empty it's legal to own.

Real common. Fired a light HE shaped-charge warhead/ 84mm rocket with a range of 200+ meters. Not reloadable..

Awesome, thanks for the quick replies.
Now the only question remains- is it worth $200 for a fun wall hanger? Didn't realize they were relatively common. But it would be great to have!

Hard to put a "value" on that since it's just an empty launcher... But hey if you're happy with it then it was worth it.

I wouldn't try to pack that into your checked baggage though on your next overseas trip...

Whatever its worth to you is what its worth. Its not like it can be reused into anything (unless in the wrong hands).

try converting it to shoot potatos or tennis balls. you can see conversions on the internet.

basically it is a potato gun hidden inside the AT-4 tube is all

Didn't buy it yet, but I really like the idea of a hidden potato gun within the tube, that alone is worth it.
Did a quick google search, but didn't see anything specifically on a tater launcher using an AT4 tube to disguise it, and even tho its easy to figure out with a bit of time and effort, i'll ask anyways- has anyone seen a tutorial or write-up on doing this, and if so, mind posting the linky?

I have used AT-4 trainers that fire 9mm tracers I am not sure if it is a conversion for spent tubes or if they are built on a new unit.

As far as what it is worth, the local shop got one in on consignment and it sold for $400 about 6 months ago.

Value wise they seem to sell for everything from $100 to $300 depending on condition.
If the sights are intact and nothing is broken it may be worth $200.

If they are so common, do you know where I can get one ? GB comes up empty......

everything appeared intact and present except for the rear sight... the elevation ladder was snapped off where it meets the main plastic body of the rear sight.  aside from that its a little dusty and looks like it still has a little whitish blast residue on the front and some black on the inside of the rear cone

I got mine for $10 at a yard sale when I was stationed at 29 Palms. My front sight is broken, that is why I got  at a $190 discount.

AT4 SUBCALIBER TRACER TRAINER
The M287 subcaliber tracer trainer (Figure B-5) uses the 9-mm M939 training practice-tracer (TP-T) cartridge. When loaded, this trainer simulates the AT4 in weight, balance, and operation. The velocity and trajectory of its ammunition match that of the AT4's HEAT cartridge, but the M287 produces less noise, backblast, and overpressure. The M287 subcaliber tracer trainer is used in place of the AT4 in training.
Figure B-5. M287 subcaliber tracer trainer.

a. Description. The M287 tracer trainer is a specially constructed AT4. Unlike the LAW subcaliber trainer, it is not made from an expended launcher, so it has its own NSN. It is designed to accept a special rifle barrel that fires a reduced-load 9-mm cartridge.

(1) The M287 may be fired at stationary or moving targets. Before it can be fired at a target tank occupied by personnel, the parts of the tank that could suffer damage must be shielded. The local TSC can provide specifications for modifying tanks to be used as targets for the M287 tracer trainer.

(2) Unlike the M136 AT4 itself and the FHT, the M287 has no band between the front and rear sights. The trainer has a 9-mm submachine gun barrel, a breach assembly, and a bolt (Figure B-6). The bolt is easily removed to load the 9-mm cartridges and to inspect the barrel for obstructions.

Had a buddy that thought he had an empty tube and was dicking around with it one day,...put a hole in his gun room wall.(was a 9mm trainer)

I always wanted one of the 9mm trainers.  While the ammo is damn near impossible to find, I think the 9mm trainer would be one hell of a range toy

AT4 tube, could be worth a bit.

Does it still have it's sights?
