Recently got a .22 single shot bolt action for a song and was curious if anybody else has these?   It has a (UMC followed below it by a CUGIR marking)    I deduced it was Romainian by the "Cugir" marking.     Am I right?   I can find nothing using search.     It has at least a 22" barrel and appears to be built like a brick,  as well as heavy.     Thanks for any info.

I had one. I had to do a bit of tweeking it to get it to feed and eject properly but once done it was accurate. I sold it because I liked all my other .22s better. They are a decent "tinkerers" gun and were a decent deal at $60 but there are other things in their price range now I would rather have.

ETA: I just reread and noticed you said CUGIR single shot. I had a M1969 which is different. The model like you have has a pretty good reputation though typically they are in poorer shape.

I have one. I drilled and tapped for a scope. Mine is only capapble of about 1"-2" groups at 25 yards. The triggers are great and mine adjusted down pretty well.

Here are pics of one that is identical to mine:

And it looks like their accuracy is about like mine too.

I like mine.  I need to put a little more time into it and see how accurate it is.  I put about 100 rounds of mixed bag ammo, a zip lock bag with 3-4 different types of .22 ammo I found around the house, through it last week.  The group was about 1.5x3" at 100  yards - rifle has a cheap scope I took off of another rifle I bought used.  I'm into the rifle about $90 and very happy with it.

Edit - mine is an M69 - if you have a single shot it is different.
