I am considering buying a 10/22 that has a serial number  d87XXX

I called Ruger and they said that the "d" stands for duplicate, meaning that they put the 87XXX serial number on the rifle and then realized it was duplicate so they came back and put on the "d"

Does anyone know what the significance of this means ?  I mean does it positively or negatively affect the value or does it not really matter at all ?

It is an international version of the rifle.

thanks

Very very collectible.
Post it over on Rimfirecentral.com and watch the feeding frenzy.

At least 500 to 700.
