Who makes the best, and quietest, integral Ruger 22lr pistol? This will be very low round count so I am not too awfully worried about lead build-up over time. Anything else to be concerned about? Are they any good? |
| hello. are you talking pistol or rifle? if pistol, i own a JOHNS GUNS and i can tell you it is absolutely hollywood quiet! quieter than a pellet gun. it is also vey accurate. very reliable on all ammo. it also comes COMPLETELY apart for cleaning. i highly reccomend them. kirk |

the gemtech units are quiet, as is the mk2 integral from sound tech, although the sound tech unit is custom and real low production. read good things about the awc amphibian, but no first-ear experience. and the aac phoenix is out of production now.... mark white of sound tech does this thing where he welds a can to the barrel of a mk2. not really sexy, and it screams "suppressed pistol", but the round count of these units could be in the tens- to hundred-thousands. is stealth and rigidity your reason for an integral? reason i ask is that i was looking at that option, still am, but muzzle can would better fit my perceived needs list right now. |

My SRT Integral is very quiet and accurate. The suppressor can be removed from the gun to clean the expansion chamber. It has very little FRP - if any. Photo compares the 8" SRT integral Ruger and a typical Ruger with a muzzle can (Cheyenne XL).  |
Something I don't have is the reason.  I have a Buckmark with a muzzle can on it now. |

SRT probably makes the best. That seemed to be the general concensus when i bought mine...... which by the way, im thinking about selling if you are interested shivan. ive got about 150 rounds through it. its on a form4 in NV. i can take some better pics, and i even think i have a video of it, if you are interested.  |

I also have an integral from John's Guns of Coleman, TX. I haven't tried it with subsonic rounds, but with regular high-velocity it is not at all uncomfortable to shoot without earpro outdoors, and only very slightly uncomfy indoors. Note too that I have very sensitive ears, as in routinely complain that the TV is too loud when others are watching. I'm really kicking myself that I didn't try it with subsonics before packing it away for a year to deploy, but can report back on that in the autumn. My Ruger was a stainless, and the seam is practically invisible. I have to peer right up on it to see it, and even then I still can't trace a 360 line all the way around it. Overall, for $550 (on customer provided Ruger) I'm extremely pleased with the John's Guns product. The deciding feature, for me, was that it can be totally disassembled for cleaning. |
