Anyone have experience with one of these? If so, what do you think of it?
I'm not interested in the LC9s, just the LC9. |

I've had one for a year or so. Several hundred rounds through it. Only problem I had was that a second mag I bought would not always disengage the mag safety due to excessive tolerances. That was when I pulled the mag safety out. Once I got the mag safety out, I saw where the engagement tab could be bent to provide more contact with the magazine, but I left it out, because fuck that thing.
I pocket carry it and it works well for me. |

I've carried one for the last year or so.
It's flat, light and easy to carry. Mine's been 100% reliable. Accuracy is on par, or even better, than the DA revolver it replaced. I think it boils down to the trigger on this gun. The trigger pull is much more like a revolver. In fact it feels much the same as my SIL's LCR. I'm an old wheel-gun type, and the trigger pull is not any different than a DA revolver and I find the trigger pull no big deal. Many people don't like a DA revolver-style trigger, and they probably won't like the trigger pull much. It's a truly long pull, though smooth and not really heavy for a DA pull. I like revolvers, this replaced a DA revolver (642) as my EDC, I have several DA-only revolvers, and the trigger pull on my LC9 is a good DA trigger. What it's not is a good SA trigger. I handled an LC9s at the LGS last weekend, and the trigger pull is far more typical of a striker fired gun. If the DA pull bothers you, or you want a better trigger, the LC9s is really something to look at. I'll probably pick one up after they've been out for a while, so I can have one of each. I don't think I'd consider carrying the LC9s without a holster. It's like a Glock or Shield. I would recommend something should be covering the trigger. I have far less concern about the DA LC9 as long as you're not carrying anything else in your pocket. The DA LC9 is sorta like a flat pocket revolver that's carries more rounds and is faster to reload. Fine for me, and I'd likely still carry the DA version if I buy a striker version. It's an easy to live with gun. |
