| I want a SVT 40 !!!!!! Where, if even possible can I find one of these? And what is a reasonable price range for this weapon? I kick myself for not getting the one I found last year for 200 bucks!!! Oh well, help me out guys. THANKS |
| You had found one for $200!!!! Bend over, I will kick you for not buying it!!!! A buddy bought his about 2 yrs ago for $300 at a gunshow, and it was in near mint condition. I have seen a few at the gunshows in Phoenix, but not alot of them. They seem to run anywhere from $450 and up. |

200 bucks and you didn't buy it! You should be flogged! Seriously, there seem to be several in this area (VA) at every gunshow. Going price seems to be $450 as well. They are also the same rifles at each gunshow at the same dealers too. I've wanted one myself, but I'll have to find a good deal to justify it. They really are a nice rifle. Besides, $40 for a 440 rd spam can of ammo is cheap shooting in anybody's book. Ross |
| About 6 years ago, I had a chance to buy one for 200 or 220, I can't remember. I didn't because I wasn't sure how good a gun it was, and the local FFL told me they(SVT-40's) were pieces of crap! I should of known not to listen to him. I do not buy anything from him anymore. I still hate him for that.....and myself for being an IDIOT! But, at least it wasn't LAST YEAR at normal prices of 450! Oh, bobeaser, you should feel baaaaaaaaaaad. |

I bought one of these a few years back for $225. It was a 'sniper' model...or at least it had the configurations of one, dont know if it was all original or what. Anyway, I found it to be very cheap to shoot, but not anywhere near as accurate as my Mosin 91-30 and its a major pain in the a$$ to take apart and clean (since all that cheapo ammo is corrosive). Anyway good luck finding one, regardless of their shortcomings they are neat guns. RW |
