Hey, I've been looking at springfield SAR8 and like the feel of it quite a bit. just wondering how it would compare to say a DSA FAL. This would not be a safe queen at all, it has got to be field worthy. thanks for your help |

The FAL has less recoil, better ergonomics (by far) and about the same level of accuracy. Easier to clean too. I've owned 5 HK roller locking system rifles, 3 real HK 91's and two Springfields, and while they are usuable infantry rifles, the FAL has it all over the G3 system. DSA also uses a forged receiver. Both companies have lifetime warranties. Go with the DSA. |

I can comment as an owner of both a SAR-8 and a DSA SA-58C PARA. I like my SAR-8 (EBO Greek licensed copy) but I love my DSA. Beyond question or comparison the DSA is a better weapon. If its a newer SAR-8 with an aluminum receiver and integral rail then its not even a fair comparison - those SAR-'s are not even a good clone of the HK-91s at all. The Greek made ones are excellent rifles and worth while in their true form (922 compliant with good parts). No doubt the DSA cost a lot, I know as I recently parted with the cash for mine - but I have no regrets. If you are torn between the makes then I would suggest either a DSA STG model or a high quality FAL build to save money. I am seriously considering selling my SAR-8 to buy another DSA. The HK design is good but IMHO the FAL system is better. I just cant decide which DSA I would want next.... |
