I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good person to do my conversion. I have heard alot about Urbach but can't get in touch with him. I would prefer first hand knowledge but as long as you trust em let me know

Go with Jayson at IGF. His work is excellent. He reworked my ORF built MP5 clone. He has it looking and running like the original HK.

I had mine done at RDTS.

Link to RDTS website (http://www.rdts.com)
Work is great.

Turnaround was about 3 weeks.

Had a DOJ 94 barrel swapped with factory MP5, remarked MP5, paddle flap installed and refinished.

This is my vote as well.  Jayson has done two for me and they are both great!

Jayson has a really great reputation.  He is correspondingly expensive.

Probably well worth it, but not if your a cheapskate.

Where did you find the surefire? What model offset is that? How much?  I'm getting ready to buy a DOJ 94 and having it reworked like you did. The lowest price I've found a DOJ is for $2595. How much does RTDS charge for the conversion? Thanks for our help.

Surefire was purchased on equipment exchange over on HKPro.
Here is one in the EE right now

The offset is the A17 adapter and related lamp assembly. This allows me to mount the suppressor (SWR QD3K) while light installed.

RDTS charged me about 800 for all the work.

Refinish, barrel swap, remark, SBR markings, and paddle flap.
I provided the HK factory barrel, he supplied paddle flap hardware

Remark to MP5 is better than factory, nicely engraved MP5 in HK font, versus
HK stamps it in there...

Turn around was about 3 weeks or so.

I dont believe he cuts barrels though... He might , but I am not sure.
You'll save a ton o cash by having IGF trim the 16" barrel and install their adapter.
And the end result will be the same.

He did an HK91 for me years ago. Work on both is flawless.

I'm also a big fan of RDTS. I've compared my RDTS sear host to factory German MP5's and found the fit and finish on my gun to be superior to the German gun.

Their turnaround time used to be terrible but from what I've heard they've made a great improvement in that department.

IGF and RDTS are both good choices.

Arizona Response Systems?

Every contact I've had with him, he's been rude, curt and dismissive.  He won't see a single dollar of mine.

Had I seen his "quality gunsmithing" prior to contacting him, I'd have never contacted him:

I went ahead and got a DOJ and I'm sending it to Ralph at RTDS. He does cut and rethread barrels. I'll have the same setup as you. I just need to find an A3 HK metal stock. I've called everyone and no luck. All thats out there are clones and F style stocks. I'm also considering getting the FBI lower and having RTDS convert it to semi.  Now I just need some mags and the surefire and I'll be set. Man this has always been my dream gun. I decided to make it happen after seeing your MP5 conversion. I have problems

For the stock try Adam Webber or Phil Flack. Both guys are great to deal with.

I'll have to admit he isn't exactly Mr. Personality, but he did my SL8/G36 and refinished one of my Cali DoJ '94s and they turned out great. It probably helps that I can drive over to his place, so he's less likely to be obnoxious in person.
