Been kicking around SBR idea for awhile, deciding to move forward..Any help is GREATLY APPREICATED!!.
1. Have Form 1 App. from '06 with DC address is that GTG?
2. ATF wants both duplicate copies sent together with CLEO sig. on both and 2 photos?  (finger print cards too?)
3. If I go Individual route instead of Trust, what becomes of weapon at my death? Leaning towards Individual just b/c Trust seems complicated.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!... SORRY I KNOW THIS GETS COVERED ALOT BUT IT'S NEW TO ME.

I can't answer question 1 as it's been too long since I form 1'd anything.

Yes, both copies of the form, CLEO signed, a photo affixed to each form, and 2 fingerprint cards.

Upon death your NFA items are transferrable tax-free to your next of kin on a form 5.

No.  Well maybe.  Probably not.  Don't risk it, get an updated form.

Thank You both!!! I have had the SBR urge on and off for awhile, which is why I have a Form 1 from 06. I am now trying to decide to SBR my Colt 6520 or my 6450. Leaning towards 6450 now b/c several have stated the gas port on FSB of 6520 will need enlarging, so 6450(9mm blowback) looks like path of least resistance..THANKS AGAIN!

One more thing: Be sure to include the Certificate of Compliance form (1 copy.)

Thanks! one question about that..I know it's to certify citizenship or legal immigrant status but Who signs or "certifies" that? a notary?

You certify it yourself.  You sign on the line.

Yup.  As stupid as that sounds, it's true.  Just fill it out as it instructs you.

I assume you've already jumped through your state's NFA hoops.  Or is that just for MGs up there?  I can never remember but it seems like there's some sort of local hassle involved.

Not yet, The Louisiana Department of Public Health and Safety requires the submission of a single page form in duplicate..Just a formality from what I hear......I hope!

Yes there is a form for the state to register your SBR. I gave bestiller a link to the form in the HTF. I actually found this out through the boards here from another member.
