What is the barrel length?  What type of distances were you shooting at?  Thanks!

Great pics! How bad is blowback with your socom? Mine is pretty terrible with the factory 10" barrel and stock gas control screw.

My can is the older FA556-212A model and the blowback is only noticeable when shooting prone.

Thanks for the reply. What is the rest of your setup? 10"? 10.5"? Do you happen to know the gas control screw size? Thanks.

My barrel and Stephen H's barrel were the first two cut by Marvin Pitts to  10".  Reamer size to open the gas port insert was 0.078125" and the carbine worked fine with mil-spec M193, M855, & Mk262 with a gas port insert opening of ~0.0700"

Cheers

Thank you, sir! That's one size smaller than what I have in the gun now (and 3 smaller than what came with the FN CQC barrel). I'm going to order that screw and try it out. *fingers crossed*

Yeah I usually don’t carry all that crap but I wanted to try out the aug and some other new gear that day.. so I was packing way more than anyone needed to... If you guys are thinking the scar looks heavy due to the rails.. it’s not bad at all when compared to any M1a standard or in a ebr stock.. and my dsa sass... both make my scar feel like a light hunting rifle.. only gun I think that gives it a run for its money on weight is the Psl or Russian svd..

I suspect that the "heavy" comment was a combination of everything including the rail, bipod, weapon light and telescope.  I'm personally jealous that I don't have access to that kind of shooting-land.

Cheers

Here's my beauty. Thinking about running a battlecomp on it. Anyone run one on their SCAR before? Also want to put a rail extension on it and a VLTOR stock.

I ad  BC on mine for a few days. I didn't care for it. Managed to snag a PWS/YHM QD mount and thats whats staying on it.

Branham 2" rails are nice. Not as much sticking out and not as much weight on the end as some of the longer bigger ones.

Still waiting for a pair of 7.62 and 5.56 SOCOM RC's I ordered back in March of last year. It's going to be about 13 months by the time I'm scheduled to receive them in April. I'm happy for everyone that e-filed, but hearing about your 90 day turn around really makes my blood boil.

Great choice of suppressors; I should have bought a Surefire 762 can instead of my AAC 762.  FWIW, I spoke with a Class III guy today who advised me that Form 4s are taking around 11 months and e-filed F1s are right at 90 days so maybe you'll see them this month?
