| Pretty simple question: anyone know what thread pattern the SCAR-17S comes with? A friend has an AAC 51T brake in .308 and I wanted to see if it'll fit. If so, that's about $100 less than I'll have to spend when I get a can for it later this year. |

The SCAR 17 barrel is unique in the fact that the threaded area is longer and there is no thread shoulder. Hence the barrel jam nut to index the factory PWS break. Thats why there are few alternatives beyond the QD Suppressor Mounts such as the AAC Blackout MITER and the Surefire options which index off the muzzle and have material that extends down beyond the excess threads and over a portion of the barrel. The jam nut is required to use an A2 for a AR10. Some people are running a traditional non-miter AAC Blackout without the jam nut. Because it indexes off the muzzle, it will work. However, without the jam nut there are exposed threads. I suspect that someone somewhere down the line will jump to fill this SCAR 17 flash hider void. I'm running the AAC Blackout MITER.
