In this thread list documented failures of the scar system 16 and 17s.
I see a few guys posting "inside" info stating problems with SCAR bolts, barrels,broken lowers, stocks and such. List in this thread any documented info of these problems with the SCAR system. |

@3500 rounds in my 17.Only issues are my eyes don't see the targets as easy as they once did, and as light as it is, it still gets heavy with optics and a 20 round mag...because I am not the Marine I was 30 years ago.
(Wow...I can't believe I just wrote that...I must have been having some fun during all that time, because it seems like only HALF that...enjoy your youth, you pogues...the sands they are a slippin', and The Reaper is a waitin'!) 
Forget about what your aunt's second cousin's sister in DEVGRU alledgedly told her boyfriends drunken barbers nanny, it's a hell of a weapon, and the only way to prove that conclusivly is to saddle up and buy one yourself. If you don't like it after six months, sell it. I can almost guarantee you a 90% return on investment with current demand. ...but I bet if you buy one, you likely won't be sellin'.

| I've seen (via pictures) a broken extractor. I've also seen 2 broken barrel bolts. That's it. Everything else I've heard has been purely anecdotal. In over 2000 rounds on my SCARs (yeah, still not that many really), I've had zero malfunctions (not including the 100 or so rounds when I was tuning my 10.5" SBR). |
