It's a lot of the same stuff Jack has posted in here as well, and from the last SHOT show.

Working through back log of guns, and hoping end of the year KS stuff will roll out to dealers.

As of today still no orders can be placed for the KS stuff.

M110 PRG suppressors will be made available to buy.

DSR25 cans are close to being released to dealers (shameless plug you can message me for one).

Some small parts that are not on display I've been told will be made available (muzzle devices in more thread pitches - 5/8x24 rejoice!)

Any chance one of those small parts was a 556 muzzle device that will let urx4 10.75"/CQB users run the full shrouded PRT can without shimming?   Was hoping KAC had a solution in mind....

I was wondering this also.

They still seem to have M110 contracts, so one can hope. And with the HTX uppers/barrels available there is probably more demand now than back in the day...

I think the fact that they do still have 110 contracts means it's likely we'll see more 110 components hit the shelves again - legacy 110 suppressors, flash hiders, gas blocks, and even handguards/rails.

But when and what quantity of such items is anyone's guess.

My guess is barrels aren't the production holdup, and they have the ability to do it and make some $.

I'm just surprised at how they're calling it a "KAC Collab" when they took a barrel off their CHF machine, tossed a milspec extension on it, and called it a day.

Hopefully KAC is making good use of otherwise unused machines and able to bring in some $$.

Thats pretty cool

Whats the pricing and availability looking like on these? Are these going to be regular production lines or are they going to be one off's that are dropped here and there.

Also if you purchased a complete rifle in the past, is possible to just order an upper? Not really interested in another 2000 to 3000 dollar lower.

@Jack_L curious if there’s a rough ETA on the new 5/8-24 muzzle devices? Have an LMT 300blk I’m working on and would prefer to run a 762 QDC CQB but would love to avoid the Easter egg hunt of finding one of the old 5/8-24 SR30 MDs. Loaded question I’m sure.

There was a time when you said the NT4 PRG wasn’t going to happen but now Im just waiting on my stamp to clear so that means my PDW dreams are still alive.

For real. With how much larger the commercial market is, the greater potential for professional contracts today, the popularity of braces, the fast F4 approvals, the popularity of 300blk, and all of the other cartridges that have been rapidly introduced the last few years, it's a major missed opportunity the PDW hasn't been realized. If it could be reworked to 300blk that would be ideal, or just release it in 6x35, it will still do well.

The Rattler is cool, but it's a considerably heavier and overall larger gun than the PDW. Really nothing like it released that is that small and roughly 4lb. The Q HB is close in weight, but again, larger gun

Not trying to be a jerk here, but do you have any experience in bringing a physical product to market?

KAC has a pretty solid grasp on demand from military and commercial customers, as well as what their actual capacity to manufacture is. Time producing PDWs is less time making other rifles/components. Let's give KAC the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Just one point of reference, im goingto spend ~$3,000 on a FN 15P. I’d gladly spend double on a KAC PDW and I know im not the only one.

Not always, see my comments about the nt4 prg above also the market has change a lot in the last 15-20yrs as CaribuLou pointed out.

I know very little about the FN 15P but from the looks of it it probably has a lot of commonality shared with the SCAR. This being the case it means that FN has a lot of scale and can use existing tooling and machining. New tooling and machining is extremely expensive. I wouldn't know what the breakeven number would need to be for the KAC PDW. New products are cool and all but we have to remember that these companies are in the business of making a profit at the end of the day.

The KAC PDW would share a lot of existing tooling snd machining with the SR/KS series too.

Sig, FN, and Q seem to think there’s money in a PDW.

We already have the SR-30, and 300 Blackout has long surpassed the 9mm PDW for most practical uses. I have the 9.5" version, and I'd highly recommend picking one up. KAC did an exceptional job in building that gun. If anything, they could easily add a braced option for those that don't want to deal with the NFA.
That's not to say there isn't a place for a more compact PDW. I have a P90 SBR specifically for that purpose. At 19" long fully loaded, it makes a very good bag gun. But it's very much a niche role, and frankly I wouldn't spend the money on it again today.

SR-30 is too big, traditional receiver extension kills it. Not sure what 9mm has to do with this conversation, the KAC PDW was originally chambered in 6x35.

I don't recall saying that the NT4-PRG wouldn't happen, especially since I was one of the people pushing them for commercial release from the start.
Not that I'm immune from error or misremembering, I'm just not recalling any time since the creation of the NT4-PRG that I wouldn't want to make it available to the market.

I was quite a while back. I don’t think it was that you didn’t want it to happen. You said there was no market for it, people only wanted the clone correct nt4.

I’m grateful you advocated for it and were able to bring it to market.

Now if you could do the same for a PDW…

Elevator pitch: Do an 6.8/ICAR pattern receiver worked over with the rest of the PDW concept. I have done zero homework on if the 6mm ARC is good out of shorter barrels, I don't even own one, however, the 6.5 Grendel out of the same new receivers and Magpul mags has similar potential and is actually good out of short barrels.
