Here's my Sig Sauer collection. I started with the SIG P229 and then I got a SIG 516 Patrol with a 16" barrel. To be honest I knew I wanted an AR but I was a total n00b and didn't know which one to get. I went with the brand I recognized, Sig Sauer, and luckily for me I have not had any issues.
I filed the form to convert the SIG 516 lower to an SBR lower. In the meantime, I saw a good deal on a SIG 516 Pistol with a 7.5" barrel so I bought it. Once I received the tax stamp I switched the PDW upper to the SBR lower and then converted the pistol lower to a rifle for the 16" upper. I'm toying with the idea of getting one of those SIG 1911s for my next Sig.

I will post pictures of the 751 as soon as I finally get it. Some people ordered the semi automatic version of it 2 years ago and finally get them. So I should get the happy switch version before Christmas. Back to topic:

So serious question, that eotech and those (what I am assuming are) AR-Height sights...don't you find them a hint too high for the stock? WHen I had my eotech mounted to my 556SBR, I found myself having more of a "chin weld" than a cheek weld due to how low the stock sits...was I just doing it wrong? The sight offerings for the SIG 556 series in the US suck ass so I'm really looking for the "correct answer" that doesn't mean running my popsicle and a red dot.

Sir, you are very correct with that statement.The SG55X series was designed to be very low off the ground including the shooter, when in position (the Swiss Army still primarily uses 20 round magazines). Hence, to find the right optic/sights if they are not fixed is not really a possibility. For me, I wanted AR height optics and sights so I'd have the lower third co-witness and could use a wide array of optics. I got used to shooting that way, or I also use a cheek riser from a German manufacturer that still lets me fold the darn thing. I dont shoot the 552 very often and neither do I plan on shooting the 751 that much, they are trophy guns for me. I tend to shoot AR-style rifles because all the good things were made for them. Got my SIG 516 16" Patrol upper cut down to 10". It took the gunsmith a while because they had to fabricate a barrel wrench since SIG uses a proprietary barrel nut. It was worth the wait, though, and the rifle feels a lot better balanced now. I can't wait to get my AAC SDN-6 suppressor!
Here's my other SIG 516 SBR -- SIG 516 7.5" PDW. I was told it was too short to suppress so I decided to get my 16" upper cut down to 10" so I can suppress that instead. (I tried finding a SIG 10" CQB upper but no one had one in stock so I just had mine cut down.)

Picked this one up and ran a few hundred rounds through it yesterday. SAN pe90 carbine. Was originally similar to a 551LB with a 17.9" barrel which is restricted in Canada. This one was rebarrelled with a 1:8 twist Krieger barrel with the flash hider machined as part of the barrel for a total barrel length of 18.6" making it non-restricted up here in kanuckistan. Might get a lower rail to run an aimpoint or elcan specter DR. I also want to find some black authentic Swiss furniture. The fit and finish on these guns is awesome and boy can they shoot.
