So, I was shooting my Yugo SKS today, and it was hitting high so I break out the trusty (or so I thought!) AK/SKS combo front sight windage/elevation tool only to find that it's a twat hair too narrow to fit over the front sight post on my SKS.

At first I thought the tool was out of spec, but it works just fine on my AKM. It was advertised to work for both rifles. So, either it really wasn't meant for both, or the post on my SKS is out of spec.

Anybody have any similar experiences here?

The tool in question looks like this;

Yeah, mine was really tight , but has always worked on a number of SKS rifles.

I have the same tool. It worked on both of my SKSs.

I bought one of these from AIM, it worked on my Chinese AK, Russian SKS, but it did not fit over the front sight post on my Yugo SKS.

So they are listed as working for all AK's and All SKS's, but that is far from the truth.

I pulled an interesting trick to make a front sight tool for my SKS.

What I did was to take the back side of that gas tube cleaning thing that comes in the cleaning kit, and dremel a groove into it that just fit tight over the front sight and there is a squared off part on the cleaning kit holder where you can insert the rod into the holder and use it like a T-handle.

I only mention it because you said your adjuster already works for your AK so it could be a solution for your SKS. IM me for pics if you're interested and I'll show you.
