DD 10.3 barrel and SLR Intrepid Handguard from SLR Rifleworks. This is a superb free float HG for me... it is 1.7" wide where I grip it. No special wrench required.

, do you have any range time with this rail? How's the fit and finish when attaching lights, vfgs, sights etc.?

No range time yet. Fit and finish is excellent. These are manufactured in USA.
I used a low profile gas block from SLR that has similar dimensions to other brand low profile gas blocks. No BUIS or other rail mounted items installed yet. SLR barrel nut is used to attach barrel, then the handguard slides over the barrel nut. The 2 cross bolts have spacers included to prevent over-tightening.

i recently installed a 7" intrepid rail on a 7" barreled upper. i believe they're coming out with a keymod intrepid soon. i originally picked the rail up to cut it into a pistol fsb rail but i changed my mind a trimmed the fsb down. as the op said earlier the install is a breeze , a 1 1/8" crow foot or wrench for the barrel nut is all that's needed really(and a small hex for the cross bolts). no timing of the barrel nut is required. the rail itself is very nicely machined , almost a soft feel to it like a urx rail. depending on your shooting style the rail has a very slim or small feel to it. i've mounted kac and lmt sights and a larue fug and no problems attaching them to the rail. i've also tried a scout light in a gear sector offset mount and a bobro 30mm mount with no problems. a built in sling socket would have been nice but there's really no where it could have been machined in on this version without giving something up. i'll be using an IWC low profile sling mount so it's not really an issue just an additional cost. it has anti rotation tabs that go around the upper receiver and the stainless sleeves for the cross bolts keep the rail from moving forward. i'm with the op on this one , i really like this rail. and SLR has great customer service if you have a question or a problem with one of their products , just great people to deal with. that and anything that comes out of Titusville is all good in my book

Picked one of these up when I ripped apart my upper to re-profile the barrel and give it a newer look. I have a Inforce light mounted on mine, and after originally leaving it off I put my AFG back on last night.
It installed pretty easily, just be careful to not over tighten the barrel nut or the screws will not align when clamping on the rail. I plan on getting mine out to the range this weekend. Before:

| My brother picked up a early prototype from SLR and I installed it on one of his rifles. It has held up great. no issues what so ever with it and looks pretty good to boot. My only complaint was the stainless nutsert. I would have had it Cerakoted or have it black type-III from the factory. |
