What is the going rate for a SPAS 12 with fixed stock and newer safety in good condition, and do you anticipate the price going up dramatically if there is another ban?

All looks and I hear it was a delicate shotgun prone to problems, it was one of those guns that were banned from importation I think in '86, someone please clarify.

The Benelli M1 Super 90 is a better gun and more available. Why the interest in the SPAS?

As with so many things, because it looks cool.
I know the weaknesses of the SPAS12, but I can't stop myself from wanting one.
Kind of like a Mini-14GB

I have the exact one you're asking about.  I've had it for about 5 years and I have never shot it.

I guess I should sell it.

I currently own one that I bought a few years ago for $700...that I have never shot either. I am debating whether or not to keep it. I AM IN NO WAY SOLICITING BUYERS IN THIS FORUM. I realize it is not being imported or produced any more and wondered what, if any increases in value a possible ban would have??

everything i've ever heard about them leads me to believe they are crap. Saw one at a match that no one would could figure out how to get it work right. I think they are popular because they look cool.

I've had a few of them, all with the folding stock.

First off, the folding stock is the desireable model, and the fixed-stock  version is worth only about half as much as the folder.
This is primarily because the attraction of that gun is based on looks, as others here have noted.
It makes a great movie prop, for posers.

It's way too heavy.
I doesn't really do anything better(or even as well) as numerous other shotguns, with the exception of being "switchable" from gas to pump action.
The Benelli M3 Super 90 also is "switchable" from semi-auto to pump action, and is much lighter, better handling, more reliable, easier to use, and generally better.

If you are expecting to gain alot of money from the fixed-stock SPAS during a "possible new ban", I think you will be very disappointed, because it aint gonna bring much.

As I said, I owned a few SPAS-12 shotguns.
I sold them all years ago.
I now own a Benelli M3 Super 90, and never looked back.

I saw one in a gun shop back in the day and thought it was badass.

If I came across one now it would be a "collector". I still want a M3 Super 90.
