I just saw a youtube video from an outfit called SPI. They have what they call Elcan Spector IR scopes that they state are surplus, and they have a thermal scope of their own called the T-14X. Anyone have experience with them? I got the Sham Wow  vibe from the video. The T-14X kit basically came with  everything you need to plug and play with the exception of a DVR. Anyone have any experience with them? [

I think they make a living off of picking up surplus gov scraps etc and reselling.
You could possibly get some good deals from them, but are probably putting yourself at some minimal risk of getting junk or unsupported stuff.

Edit: BTW that, T-14 looks like the old NightHog I think.  It was sold under other names as well back when thermal cost 10k for a 320 resolution scope. :D  I wonder what it goes for now.

I've seen these same stupid youtube videos as well. The video turned me off and I never followed up on pricing from them....

their website makes no mention of sensor size, just that it is 60hz. If it is 320, then $4500 ain't bad, but the fact they don't list sensor size tells me its gonna be smaller.

My first and only order with them was $10k, it was not handled the way a $10k order should be IMO.  The amount of runaround that I got after placing an order on an "in stock" item (asked them several times) that took two months to ship was astounding.  In the end, I got the product and they made good on a failed promise (six months later) regarding an expensive aftermarket accessory that was supposed to have been supplied with the unit.  Their price was the best, that's why I took a chance on them  Short of them somehow offering a product I can't live without that no one else can get, I don't see myself spending any more money there.  Others have had good experiences.  YMMV.
