| Anybody got one? They look nice, and I like the drum and coffin mags. Might also be nice with an integral suppressor. |
|
Is this what you mean (towards the bottom): www.davidspiwak.com/Gun%20Inventory.htm I saw this one live at a gun show. Very well built and the mfg (BRP Guns) has a great reputation. Only qualm I have is that it really seemed big for an 9mm - real looooong .... Don't know about the suppressor applications for it. |
Looks sweet, but 13 lbs? That's as much as my M14. I was looking for something different in a 9mm sub-gun. |
| Look at the STG with the shorter barrel. They are MUCH lighter. The full sized STG-76 is basically a LMG with a subgun caliber...not something you want to tote around. The shorter barreled version is very managable. I have held 2 and they felt damn nice in your hands (both had forward grips as well.) If you want I can get a couple of pics of them so you can see what I'm talking about. |

The smaller one looks better. From the manual on the website, it looks like you can swap back and forth once you have the tube. I'd like to get a 9mm sub gun, but can't decide. The Uzi looks cool, but is heavy and doesn't really move me shooting. I hear they are easy to bump up the ROF, that might help. MP5's are cool if you get the PDW, but are almost priced out of what I'd pay for one and really don't impress me shooting. They are smooth and accurate, just not fun to me. The sear would be cool if I ever had the cash for a 23 and for a chopped G3. Never shot a Sterling, but they look cool, are super quiet if you get a good can, but that side mag bothers me a little. And stormtroopers use them. I really liked the MP40 I shot. Maybe it's just the historical value that turned me on, or just too many WWII movies as a kid. It was slow, but for some reason the MP5 seemed similar. A little spendy, but not bad in the NFA world. Swedish Ks, S&W, etc. Haven't shot one, but they look a little clunky and not finished. A little spendy for a K. If you could change the stock it might be better. M16. I've got one in 223 and will probably get a 9mm upper some day, just to shoot carbine matches, currently no rifle cals allowed in the action pits at my range. But it's an M16 and I want something different. MAC. I shot a 45 and liked it. Never shot a 9. I do want an M11 .380 just because it's so fast. |
You must be joking, right?? The Swedish K folding stock is THE best SMG stock out there. It opens/closes easily and is rock solid. People actually buy K stocks to put on other subguns. Have you check out the Madsen M50? It's basically a WWII type SMG made after WWII. It's unique feature is the clamshell design. It's price is priced the lowest right now of these types of transferables. If you want to go cheap. Get an M11 and do a slow fire conversion. Also, with some simple modifications, you can run 380. If you want most flexibility, get a MAC10 in 45, go with a slow fire conversion and you can also easily modify to shoot 9mm (380 won't work as the bolt is too heavy). Other calibers are also easily done for the MAC family. |
| Macs and Uzi's are excellent choices for subguns. I went the STG route because I could afford it at the time and it was something different. I will most likley be able to afford a Mac in the future, so I got this while I could. Odds are whatever you choose you will be happy with. 90% of buying one of these is personal preference I think. |
