STG or AR?

What is your go-to rifle?

Both (E4) for different reasons & roles.

Neither, the Remy sits just out of view in the middle of my apt loaded 8+1 at all times.

Also have a couple loaded handguns here and there...

And there are some loaded AR mags sitting next to the AR-accepting rifles in a "battle belt" just in case...

But for zombies and the Obacalypse?  TPD AXR!

I just recently got my AXR and love it so far. It's almost too pretty to shoot and I sometimes wish I had an MSAR to beat up.. So, you've shot your AXR enough that you have developed some trust in it? I hope to get to that point soon.

To start off with, it didn't like .223.  I've never had a problem with 5.56 though.  It has maybe 1500 rounds through it now.

These rifles are designed to shoot 5.56, and a gas piston platform is more sensitive to ammo.

I've had the same thought, but I plan to keep the AXR forever.  Didn't buy it as an investment piece and I'm not going to treat it like one!

AR for me.  My current AR is proven reliable over 3200 rounds.  The STG-556 I've only put 108 rounds through.
I also like the ergos of the AR better.  Over time who knows, I might like the STG better...  Only time and use
with a reliable track record, coupled with muscle memory will change my mind.

What I'm wanting though is to turn the STG into a compact 6.8 for deer hunting.  That would give it a real
use for me.

My AUG sits loaded in the closet, and accompanies me on road trips.  If I had to abandon home base and go on an extended zombie hunting excursion, I would probably take the AR.

My AR is in the safe now and the E4 is securely ensconced next to the bed.
