Anyone here test these out?

I'm still waiting for my paper work for my M11/9 and I am on the wait list for the Max 11 .22lr conversion, so I was looking around at full auto rated suppressors and ran across these guys in South Carolina.

SWR is AWESOME.

Though for simple cleaning with higher round count you may want to consider the SilencerCo SS Sparrow.  With the double tube design you can clean after thousands of rounds without fear of sealing up your suppressor =).

That being said - I have both and am happy with both.

Can't go wrong with the Spectre I just sent my form4 off for mine and already can't wait to get it back.

A friend of mine has the Spectre.    I would have expected it to be heavier being all stainless, but I thought it made the Ruger 22/45 balance pretty well.

I almost regret that I went with an aluminum one.

The Spectre comes with a pusher tool, making it easy to get apart after many many rounds.

Matt, Henry and the gang at SWR are great folks.  I am a big fan and user of many of their products.  The Spectre is a wonderful product for sure.  It is built like a tank.  I have literally driven nails with one during demos.  The Spectre is a little on the heavy side but not bad.  Although they now come with a pusher tool I don't like using the tool because I am worried about putting stress on the tube's threads.  Remember the tube is the serial numbered part!  My thinking is...if the core is so fouled up that I can't tap it out with a wooden dowel, I'd rather soak the suppressor to loosen up the build up.  I've always used a wooden dowel to tap out the core and never had problems.  YMMV.

I can't see a guy not being happy with a Spectre.

Mine didn't come with a pusher tool. I haven't gotten around to purchasing one yet.

I think I know what my next purchase will be then.  I am number 408 on the Max 11 .22lr conversion for the M11/9, so its going to be about 6 months.  So maybe in 4, I will start up for the SWR.

Mine certainly didn't come with a pusher tool.

So far, I haven't seen the need for the tool.

I have had my spectre for ~1 month and it is a great can... round count is probably around 500 or so...

Spectres are fantastic... and the stainless steel baffles make cleaning it effortless.

I just toss them in a little ultrasonic jewelry cleaner i got for cheap with a little water/vinegar mix, and they come out like new.

I've shot more than 1K through a Spectre and never needed the tool to take it apart.  To be more specific, I've put more than 1K rounds through a Spectre on a 22/45 mostly shooting CCI Standard Velocity but with some Winchester ammo mixed in.  Done that several times.  I have always used a wooden dowel and rubber mallet to tap the core out.  Never had a problem.

I've always worried that if the core was so gunked up that this dowel method didn't work, it was better to soak the suppressor to loosen the build up instead of putting torque on the tube threads.  After all, the tube is the expensive serial numbered part.  But, that is just me. I am sure other folks will have some different opinions.

The Spectre didn't always come with a pusher tool.  SWR started including one at the beginning of 2010 (IIRC).

As far as I'M concerned there is a top 3 as far as 22 suppressors go and they are as follows:

SWR Spectre
SilencerCo 22 Sparrow
SureFire's 22-A or 22-S models

Buy one from any of those 3 makes and you'll be hard pressed to be dissappointed!
BTW .. Major Malfunction carries all 3 of those!

So, how do you like your SureFire 22 suppressor?  How does the sound compare to the Spectre and the 22Sparrow?  Got any pics you care to share?

This isn't even in production yet and it's one of the top cans? WTF? Great technical contribution.

I have had a Specter since January and have ran about 2.5K rounds through it (hey it is still winter here). Altough there are some new players in the .22 game now that are getting attention, these are the one model that seems to be on everyones short list. For those that are looking for a built-like-a-tank can that your kids will be shooting with their kids someday,  this is a good one.

That was my point.  I was simply trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

There is always a chance maybe he is "inside" the industry enough to have put his hands on a working prototype or something.  I hope he'll still respond as to why he would recommend something that is not even in production yet.  And if he has gotten to hear one (which I doubt), it would have to be a pre-production prototype.  Believe me I've heard enough of those to discount the experience entirely.  Until you can put your hands on a real, off the production line model it doesn't mean anything.  In this case even the information from the manufacturer is pretty limited.

I'll wait until he responds.  But if he truly recommended something with which he has no personal experience, shame on him.  That is what is wrong with the internet and why people like Pat Rogers call it the "errornet".  People come to these forums seeking information and instead they find misinformation, deceit, shills, fabrications, fiction and (in some cases) lies.

The SWR Spectre is hard to beat for full auto use.

The Silencerco Sparrow is also a strong contender in that catagory.

The surefire cans are not in production yet so they are a complete and total wild card.  they are works of art though.

I agree with Bookhound about using a wood dowl to knock out the baffle stack.
