Your opinions of these two companies in terms of customer service and quality of products? I am looking at getting a Warlock or Outback II suppressor for a Walther P22, just curious on everyone's thoughts. And AAC is not a choice for me either.

I can only offer my opinion of Gemtech products since I own a Halo and an Outback II.  Both are outstanding cans, and I have yet to hear another suppressor that is quieter (as far as i can tell anyway).  I hear SWR makes good stuff though.

I love my Warlock.  After 15,000 rounds or so you can send it back (if needed) to have them rebuild it for free the first time.  Now is that customer service or what?  SWR has a great reputation for CS here and over at ST.
There have been reports of people screwing things up and SWR fixed it for free.  You can not go wrong with SWR.

i know it's just a cosmetic thing, but why is the logo always upside down on everyones firearm?

Just how the thread pattern ends up mounting the suppressor when it's tight.  I will crank it loose 180° when taking a picture to line it up nicely.

And +1 for the SWR Warlock, I love mine and it's amazing quiet!  No regrets.

I don't own a Gemtech, but all the guys there seem to be well grounded and very helpful.  They were all very courteous at SHOT.

SWR has gotten a fair amount of repeat business from me based on their service and quality of their products.

Waiting for my Outback II's approval. It'll join my HVT and G5. My choice to go with Gemtech and I haven't regretted it. Kel and team have been helpful with questions and no issues with my suppressors at  all.

FWIW, I own 2 SWR warlocks. Hands down best CS I've gotten from a company. Outstanding products.  75% of my cans are SWR, working on my 4th SWR can now.

I've shot a OutbackII, it's a good can. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

6 = 1/2 dozen

Can't go wrong with either, so whichever you can find at the best deal.

Both are great products and I'd recommend those cans to anyone looking for a .22 can.  Both companies are known for good service.  The Warlock is slightly longer and heavier, but a bit quieter.  To me it really depends on the host weapon though.  Some platforms (like a 16"+ rifle) are just so quiet anyway with subsonic ammo that it is hard to tell much difference.

You'll be happy with either.

+1

Before the transfer went through on my Outback II, I got to shoot a Warlock on my P22 owned by another arfcommer.    Either one is good.

good point everyone, i would like the warlock since price is only a $30 difference, but the dealer here has the Outback II in stock and the Warlock needs to be order

and what's the deal with gemtech's lame website, it reminds me of the old glock website...it still dates back from 2002...

We have Warlocks in stock. It would take 1-3 weeks to get one to your dealer, depending on how fast the form 3 moves.

thanks henry, i thought it's a form 4? i assume form 3 is manufacturer to dealer?

yep.

Manufacturer to dealer, or dealer to dealer, is a fee-free transfer between SOTs.  Usually they're faxed in to NFA Branch, and approval is relatively quick.

Once it's approved he can ship the silencer(s) to your dealer.

I vote Gemtech, just because of my experience with them.  Excellent products, excellent customer service.

curious about the yankee hill wraith, the thing's diameter is so big it blocks the sights completely, isn't that a problem???

That is a pretty thick can.  It is fast-attach, IIRC.  If that thing floats your boat the Warlock is also available as a fast-attach.

i own an outback II and i love it. that said, i'm going to suggest going with an SWR because that article just came out about evil blackwater operatives taking SWR silencers to iraq with them.

you won't be able to get your hands on an SWR product shortly since every couch-commando and his brother is going to be buying SWR stuff like there is no tomorrow once they read that!

SWR gets my vote.

I own SWR, GemTech and AAC but SWR is my favorite. Henry has provided me with outstanding service and 'gone the extra mile' for me on one particular occasion when I was up against a deadline for a upcoming class. GemTech is a great can and I have nothing bad to say about them, their service is very good as well. Can't go wrong with either but SWR gets my nod and has the inside track.

I would have no problem owning an SWR, I have shot their products and really like them. That said, Gemtech has always treated me right so I would look to them first.

No slam against SWR at all, buy both with confidence.

its a threading thing.  of the 4 things I have threaded for my Warlock, only my 22/45 doesnt line up right

and +1 for Warlock.  based on quality of product and customer service I received in my 'newbie questioning everything phase', there are more SWR products in my future....

SWR all the way!!!! Unless I was a 6 month wait for the SWR over the Gemtech, I'd go with the SWR hands down. Of course, I'd still rather wait for their new Spectre can. All stainless and rated for .17, .22 WMR, etc.
