I got to play with an MPX, Mission Go Bag and an insert for the MPX today. I gott tell ya, they seem really nice.
I think I want one of these combos. They were way nicer than I thought they'd be. I used to see people bash them all the time here. Is there something else about them I should know? |

There is a bit of truth to both of those.
the "Lightweight" Cordura used is 500D, and isn't for everything. For pouches, bags and other items that don't need 1000D abrasion resistance, they will use 500D. It has about 85% of the abrasion resistance as 1000D, but at about a 40% weight reduction. Over the course of a bunch of pouches and such, that's HUGE. And unless you're running around the hills of Afghanistan, the chances of someone like you or me needing that are minimal. Additionally, the 500D materials were at the request of the military units having SOTech make the gear for them. As for the "ChiCom" stuff: SOTech has a division called "Paladin", that makes licensed "copies" of some of the gear SOTech makes. Right now, it's the Mission Pack, Mission Go Bag and Go Bag. There are/may be a couple other items in the works. SOTech runs the factories and the workers work for SOTech, AFAIK. They have a person from SOTech overseeing the production. I have seen (and sold) Paladin Mission Go Bags, and were I not a dealer I would gladly buy one to save about 20% over the cost of a made-in-the-USA Mission Go Bag. They're made of 1000D Nylon and are built to the same quality, as far as I could tell inspecting them side-by-side. Stuff made with the SOTech label is made in the USA. Stuff with the "Paladin" label is made in China. Hope this helps. |

Remember there is PALADIN which is SOTECHs new Off-shore division
I would challenge anyone who thinks off-shore to find something deficient in their offerings. I doubt you will A lighter weight nylon? Um yeah it is called 500D Cordura and I hear it is all the rage now on the runway |
