I’ve read if
“The top round of ammunition left in loaded magazines will acquire an oval shape caused by the magazine spring squeezing the shells against a closed bolt. This will cause a failure to feed if shotgun shells are left in a loaded magazine inserted into a closed bolt shotgun for more than a few days” and Some ammo, like cheap Wal-Mart ammo, want cycle the gas system properly causing a failure to eject. Are these statements true? Are their any other problems? Can they be fixed? Thanks |

Never had a problem with keeping the Saiga 12 loaded (full mag/empty chamber) for months on end. I don't know where that came from.
Mine cycles everything from full house 3" mags to low brass bird shot on the #1 gas setting. I have read it takes a few boxes of full power shells to break in some guns so I ran a box of 3" steel I had and a couple boxes of 2 3/4 slugs first thing. Never a problem during or after break in. Some guns imported a year or so ago did have mis-aligned gas ports and that would cause problems. Some people have to run low power shells on the #2 setting, I guess it depends on the gun. |
