| I recently picked this up for 79 bucks at a pawn shop I wandered into the other day. For a 2009 model it has some minor surface rust I can remove. Put a Bushnell 4x on it, and was shooting sub 1" at 40 yds from an uneven table with a box from a rest. My plans for the rifle aren't much, targets and the occassional squirrel, pest removal. I plan to put a bipod on it, and will probably get it duracoated at some point. My biggest "issue" is this; the previous owner either threaded himself or had some thread the end of the barrel. Do I check to see if it was properly threaded for a can (real or fake), or my my LGS cut the barrel behind the front sight (planning to go scope only anyway)? Thoughts?? |

Oh I figure I'll wind up have my LGS check them to make sure they're threaded correctly. Any idea on where I could get a muzzle brake or cap to protect the threads for now? What is the most common thread size for this barrel (standard not a bull barrel)? 1/2x28 is the most common for a 22. Threaded for a suppressor they should be around .400 long, for an AR type muzzle break/flash suppressor they could be up to .600 |

Thanks for the info. Hopefully this will load from photobucket, I took a pic of the muzzle. Its not the best, but you'll have an idea of what I mean.

| Yup, had someone on another forum say exactly the same thing. Taking it to my Gunsmith tomorrow to have the barrel cut and re-crowned, then blasted. Hopefully I can get it back Thursday, duracoated, and can take it to the camp Friday evening. Wouldn't be shooting until Saturday afternoon. |
