| Anyone here own a savage hog in 308? How do you like it? I'm debating between this and a ruger GSR. Any better sight options than what's on there, that also allows me to mount a scope? |

I bought one in .308 & liked it so well (has shot a couple sub 1/2 moa groups), that I also picked one up in .223 (so far more in the 3/4 moa range).
So two rifles/calibers for about the cost of one GSR (that I have heard is not so accurate & a bit balky). If you have to have a detach mag (I prefer not) & that is #1 on your list of prioities, then maybe go for the GSR. I was just out a couple days ago shooting 1200 yards with the .308 HH (using a 208 Amax- goes sub-sonic just beyond that) & still holding 1 Moa. It is just Plain Jane, but durable stock & finish AND puts the bullet where I want it- I have a Vortex Viper & PWS brake on it. |
