I finally managed to lay my hands on one of these.  I want to use optics and I was leaning towards a Weaver 1-3x.

I had read the review previously on gunblast and he had a Trijicon 1.25-4 on it, and from its position in the rings, it looked like it was barely long enough to fit.  So what I'm wondering is if any of you have ever used a Weaver V 1-3x on this rifle and if not, what scope are you using?

Leupold VX-R 2-7. These are at 100 yards of the bi-pod (which it only wore for sighting in). It'll shoot everything under 2" and most stuff near an 1 1/2". My groups are nearly always two shots on top of each other with one flyer. I need to work on that.

I have been running a 3x9x40 Bone Collector scope on mine since I bought it new and have had excellent results. First the gun shoots really good, a lot better than I had imagined and the scope holds zero, is very clear and sharp and also has plenty of room to navigate it between the rings for proper eye releif. I am using the rear mounting point and has so far been an excellent performer on mine. I have no experience with any weaver scope except on a couple of my revolvers so I cant speak for them but hey, Weaver has been making scopes for a long time and I have never heard anything bad about any of them.

I've fallen in love with the VX-I 1-4 with turkey plex. The bottom cross hairs are for 100 yards subsonic the center is roughly 25yards with subs, the top cross hairs are 100 yards supersonic. Just lucked out.

I've got a silver Leupold UltimateSlam 2-7x33 scope on my 77/44. It's really nice and the SABR reticle makes for easy shots out to 200 yards.

You can kind of see how it looks here

I have a  Weaver 1 X 3 variable and am not too impressed with it.  On one power it is actually about .75 power I have to crank it up to about 1.5 to 1.75 to get it up to a true one power.  I'm guessing at the full 3 power it is actually about 2.25, these are just estimates though.
