Just bought a TC Arms Triumph, and am thinking about a Trijicon 1-4 Accupoint.  Any other good ones out there I should consider?  Thanks,

Congrats on the Triumph.. I bought a black/weathershield a few mths ago, but havent gotten a chance to fire it yet..   I wish they made one with the thumb hole stock.. The omegas with thumbholes are sweeeett feeling....

Im sure for the money range the Accupoint is in, there are plenty of top scopes..  I put a Nikon Prostaff (2-7ish) on mine, but I sorta wish i would have gone to the next level up now..

What sort of rings are you using on your Triumph?  I got some of the TC Gorilla grips (see thru) at wally world for $7 on clearance last year (way before I even bought the gun) and I like the way they sit on the gun.. they have the torx screws and are suppose to return to zero.  The see thru does not put the scope too high, and you really have to have your cheek against the stock to use the iron sights...

Post your price range for scopes and Im sure someone will give you some suggestions..

good shooting

Brian

thanks Brian...

I have a black w/ weathershield too...my FFL sold one to me at cost to return a favor I did for him.  Couldn't pass it up!

I'm new to muzzleloaders so this is my first gun and am otherwise a complete newbie.  No idea on the rings yet.  My price range is right around $400-$500 for a good scope.

Go with the Nikon BDC 250 It is bullet drop compensated out to 250 yards. I have one on a TC Omega Z6. Using Triple seven magnum pellets, TC super glide sabots (yellow) and the ballistic tip 250 gr bullets. I get amazing accuracy out to 200 as that is the longest our range is.

This is the reticule for the Nikon. The dots are a predetermined distance so you just put the dot on the deer and he/she dies.

That's pretty neat, I'm gonna check out some more.  Thank you for the recommendation.  By the way, your avatar had me laughing the first time I watched it "evolve."

Another thought, seeing that the Triumph and Omega muzzleloaders have the same barrel - the calibration should be one in the same.

I was originally leaning towards an accupoint but this may be a better fit considering it's a specialized scope.

Didn't realize there's so much drop there for a muzzleloader.  Not sure one would shoot beyond 200 yards ... unless I'm wrong.  Am I?  Or are those drops within 250 yards?

Using the TC bullets, sabots and the 777 mag powder I shot a nice 2/1/2" group at 200 yards. Make sure you also use the 777 primers as well. I have a friend with the same gun as yours and the BDC scope. You do your part and that thing will shoot like a laser! I don't think 250 is a stretch at all with these guns.

Hey Hokie I just got a pair of new Triumphs, one in Camo, and one in black/WS like yours. I got the Nikon Omega scopes too but so far am limited by a 100yd range. One's for me and one's for the wife so we can shoot together. We're new at ML too and we're working on some good loads to shoot out of them. You'll want to look into some of the bulk .44 and .45 Hornady and Speer bullets (JHP handgun) and seperate sabots to save some $$ on shooting.

Just out of curiosity what did you pay? I got my from walmart by special order and paid $410 (+tax) for it.. Every place else i looked wanted somewhere around $470 or more for them...

Mine was just below $400 out the door including tax.  I think a lot of people are costing them off to help move inventory in a sluggish economy....well, that's my guess anyway...

From some digging, it seems those circles correspond to a 100 yard zero...with the circles matching up to 150, 200, 225, and 250 yards, respectively.  Didn't realize there was so much drop in 200+ yards from an inline muzzleloader - interesting stuff.

This will be my scope choice.  The circles represent 2" at 100 yards.  I'll get clear see through scope covers too - giving the rainy deer season we often see up here.

Thanks again P08 for steering me onto this scope

Just ordered one from TheOpticsZone

I'll grab the mount & rings tomorrow from my local FFL.  Gotta send in that TC September rebate too, and score some supplies (sabots, pellets, etc)

You will love that scope on your TC. What did they charge you for the scope?

$219 plus $12 in shipping = $231 total ... cheapest place I could find it.
