I'm getting ready to scope my Polytech M14. A little background. It has a headspaced bolt, factory chome lined barrel, USGI synthetic stock, upgraded oprod guide and spring, and USGI flash hider. I have a Sadlak aluminum scope mount.

My budget is $250 - $300 for a quality scope. My goal with this rifle is to hit human size targets at 400 yards with surplus ammo. Realistic? I guess we'll see.

I have looked at a couple of scopes in the price range above. Burris Fullfield Tactical, Bushnell Elite 3200 series...

What do you guys think? Remember that I'm not a precision shooter. This rifle will be used on hog hunts, coyotes hunts, even white tail deer. Range will be 100 - 300 yards typically. The majority of time, this will be a rifle for shooting steel at the range.

What do you think?

I had a Super Sniper 10x42, and loved it. Great scope, lousy name. They introduced a new model, and a bunch of people have been selling theirs to get it, so you can probably find one for $250, maybe less. Clear glass, repeatable changes.

Are you referring to the HD (heavy duty) model?

+1 I see VX II for right around that and they are upgradable with a lifetime warranty
