| I have several Scorpion magazines that I have kept loaded for the last several months in order to induce cracking (if it will occur). Does anyone have any idea how long to give them before tentatively concluding they aren't likely to crack? One of the 20s has already cracked, but if others are going to go I want to wait a little longer before getting replacements. I have all the mags I am likely to need...but only three are '16 mags with the slightly thicker feedlips. Should I get some more or are the older mags likely to be OK if they survive x number of months? |

I got an Evo and mags but I'm not sure if I got defective ones or not. I loaded them up and I'll leave them. The worst thing I would want to happen is for them to break and not be able to get new ones due to some legislature down the road. This. I'm not worried about now. I'm worried about later. Just wondering if people have noticed a trend in the time it takes a mag to crack. |

I bought my EVO in May/June, test fired it, submitted a form 1, loaded the magazines and haven't touched them since. I will check tonight but I bet the magazines are just fine. |

I've had some magazines loaded with HST for the past five months I keep around the house and have not experienced any cracking. Nor have I witnessed any issues with the dozen or so I load and fire every week. Opposite from my experience. I have had HST loaded in a 30 rounder for a couple months, when I went to unload said magazine found the feed lip cracked almost all the way off. No word from CZ whether or not they are going to replace it (was told they would from other members) |

While it would be nice to be able to spend $60-80/ month on scorpion magazines alone I have a budget and other things I need to get. I want this to be a viable gun regardless of mag availability in the future, so I'm trying to allocate enough now to make that happen...at the expense of others guns/magazines/ammunition. So I'm just trying to get a sense for how likely my older mags are to crack.
Thank to the folks answering the question. |

It's entirely possible they made a bad batch. |

I see a handful of people reporting first-hand issues - not nearly enough of a sample size to be statistically significant regarding one or many bad batches. CZ isn't helping matters by offering up conflicting answers ("polymer change", "no changes made at all", chamfered feed lips vs. round, etc). As always with the internet, remember that those with negative experiences are usually a very vocal minority. |

Cz is better fixing the issue somehow or somebody should make a magwell adapter / new lower compatible with Mp5 mags..
Mags would cost a considerable amount more and have no hold open. Yeah, you'd probably have to sacrifice the BHO feature with pretty much any mag adaptation. However, if a mag ban comes about during the upcoming dictatorship, I can see any number of lowers being offered. From MP5, to Uzi, to Sten mags. ...Maybe even Glock. That is a big plus of having the magwell separate from the serialized receiver. Still, I think it would have to be pretty dire circumstances for anyone to go through the trouble of tooling up and making one. |

Mags would cost a considerable amount more and have no hold open. Ok mp5 mags may be a little bit too expensive.. Anyway a conversion with a truly reliable mags would be good.. Or ETS could come out with just a replacement mag body so we could reuse followers springs and floorplates from the broken mags.. This would be cheaper than a complete new mag and would be easier to export in EU |
