I just bought my 1st AR-15, a used pre-ban colt a-2, and it has a very small scratch in the lower receiver that went through the finish, but not gouging the metal. It is only about 1/8 inch long. Is there anything you guys have used to cover up this blemish without making it look worse?

Oh, sorry, didn't read the part about not being worse...
Try a bit of Birchwood Caseys AlumiBlack, or just a Sharpie.
