Had a new co-worker tell me today that he had a friend who managed to convert his AR-10 to a select fire. Is this pure BS or what? I know that some use the AR-15 Trigger groups so it almost seems that it could be possible but I think he's FOS. Never heard of a Full Auto AR-10, has anyone here ever heard this one??

The only full auto AR10 I saw was a beat up one from the 50's.

I had a chance to buy a transferrable select-fire Portugease AR-10 for about $10K when I bought my factory Colt M16-A1 for $6.5K in 2000.

It was not a reweld.

There are a few transferable AR-10s in the registry, but parts are very rare.  If indeed he converted a MODERN production "AR-10" .308 AR into fullauto, even with a rDIAS or rLL, the ATF stance is it illegal as the new AR-10s are not the same family as AR15s.

Is it dumb? Sure.  But you can challenge the ATF in court and pay extensive legal fees, or own your favorite 5 MGs and 10k rounds of ammo for each.  Your money

If true, you probably don't want to know anything about it.

My favorite was a guy told me he could make any rifle full auto by filing down the firing pin. LOL

Oldest myth in the book. I always laugh at retards who say this or even try it not knowing what exactly they're filing down.
