I am about to sell a AR lower.
I know that if I sell it out of state I have to ship to an FFL, and to make sure that the receiving FFL will accept from a private party. My main question is about shipping? What service is most firearm friendly? Do I package the firearm inconspicuously and not let anyone know what it is, or do I have to let the shipper know? What extra services should I get (ie: delivery confirmation, signature required, ect)? Any advise you guys can give would be great? Also, besides EE and Gunbroker, what are other ways to sell it that work pretty good? Thanks |
| If you dont have a FFL, you'll need a FFL dealer in your area to ship it to another FFL dealer that the seller will use. Both FFL dealers must have each other's FFL copy of certificate. Best way to ship is USPS with insurance and delivery confirmation signature. |

The FFL I use by me does not require an FFL to send to him. |

You also must ship from a customer counter , not a FedEx/Kinko's or UPS store. I live near a large UPS and FedEx hub and have had no issues shipping from them. It may be wise to look up their regulations on the website and print them out to show them , just in case. |

Your firearm must go to a FFL ONLY if the person is out of state, and if you ship to a FFL make sure they accept from individuals which ever carrier you ship with make sure you get insurance and some kind of tracking.....eases the mind |

Because it is not a handgun, you can ship USPS.
The receiving FFL does not need a copy of your drivers license, he just needs your name and address to log the firearm. It does make it easier for the reciever, but it's not necessary. You can black out your DL# if you are the paranoid type. |
