I'm thinking of purchasing a BAR kit with a Philidelphia Ordnance 80% reciever. What type of work is left to do on the reciever to make it a functioning semi-auto rifle?

I'm not sure you would be able to build it into a closed bolt semi auto with available parts.

I figured since I've seen semi-auto versions for sale it could be done, I guess I was wrong. Thanks

if you have the tools and skills, it can be done.  The OOW semi auto fires from a closed bolt and uses a different trigger housing/fire control group.

I'd tell you to look at Weaponeer.net and ask around over there
they are usually into all the semi builds

I know a long time ago they were doing a group buy on BAR kits so I'm sure someone can help you over there.

The OOW receiver is also 1/2 inch shorter than an original.
