Did MSAR serial number the barrels to match on the first run of BLK/TAN/GRN guns?

If my memory serves me right yes they did have serial numbers on them to match the receivers and bolt carriers

The thing is I've got a non-fluted barrel with serial number 600-BLK00447 but I know the BLK/TAN/GRN guns came with fluted barrels. Maybe the owner of 600-BLK00447 ordered an extra barrel at one time and I ended up with it.

I've got a non-fluted barrel too, I forget the number but it was close to yours. When I first started working there we had about six of them on the barrel rack. Those were returned from customers who wanted fluted barrels. I took one of these for my own rifle. I'm willing to bet that the others were sent out with rifles during a barrel shortage.
