I have heard that setting up a trust is the best way to go class 3. I am sending of a check tomorrow for my first full auto and I would like to know the benefits of a trust, how to obtain one, and how to register my class 3 to the trust.. Thanks

Biggest benefit is to bypass the CLEO sig & fingerprints.

But make sure you set it up properly. ATF now seems to be scrutinizing the influx of "willmaker" trusts. Get a lawyer to set it up unless you know what your doing.

I just found the stick at the top of the page about trusts. I will have to look more into it for sure.

I am fortunate enough to live in a jurisdiction where I can get a CLEO signature, so I have gone that route. Each type of ownership (individual, trust, business entity) has advantages and disadvantages, but I believe the individual route is the simplest in the long run.
