So you are probably "looking down" on to the top of the barrel as opposed to along the top radius. Very common fitting error in shooting a gun with a length of pull that is too short. In fact when I am faced with a rising 'trap' type target on the sporting clays course, I will place my face more forward on the comb and look down on the rib to "build in" the rising lead needed to break that target. You can add the length back in or try adding (a rather large) positive pitch spacer. Pitch spacers are shaped like a slice of pie. For a shotgun in that price range, I'd just put a slip on pad over the butt and head back to the patterning board. |

Yea I am looking down on the barrel, I can adjust my grip to make myself look down the radius of the barrel (this requires a strong cheek weld). I will try this when I get back to the range and see if it makes a difference. If it dose not would I be looking for a positive spacer like this one:http://www.midwayusa.com/product/371067/100-straight-pitch-spacer-1-2-positive-polymer-black vs a negative one? Thanks for the help. |

Thanks for the help. Yes. But before you spend money on one, loosen up the screws on the butt pad. Insert three quarters at the top between the pad and stock, then tighten it back down....like this - ![]() This will give you an idea as to how the pitch spacer will affect your POI. It will usually also direct recoil away from your face and into your shoulder. |
